Does Teragren offer FSC-certified bamboo products?

Yes. Teragren currently offers FSC-bamboo by special order for its Traditional (non-strand) product lines, has FSC Chain-of-Custody certification for its factories, and is working with the Forest Stewardship Council and Chinese government officials to certify all bamboo forests in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, China.

Teragren's FSC-Pure products are available immediately through special order, and include popular products featured within the company’s lines of Traditional bamboo flooring, panels and veneer.

The FSC-Pure designation means that certified products have been harvested in a FSC-certified forest, are manufactured with 100 percent FSC-certified material and are distributed and sold through an FSC Chain of Custody (COC)-certified distribution channel. (Certificate #SCS-COC-002912)

Does Teragren have FSC Chain-of-Custody certification?

Yes. COC-certification allows Teragren the right to distribute FSC-certified Traditional bamboo flooring, panel and veneer products.

Does FSC-Pure certified bamboo qualify for LEED MR Credit 7: Certified Wood?

Yes. Teragren's Traditional (non-strand) FSC-Pure bamboo flooring, panels and countertops/table tops contribute to MR Credit 7: Certified Wood and are available by special order. Just ask!

All Teragren products contribute to LEED® certification under MR Credit 6: Rapidly Renewable Materials. All Teragren bamboo flooring products contribute to IEQ Credit 4.3: Low-Emitting Materials—Flooring Systems.

Select Teragren urea- or formaldehyde-free bamboo panels and veneer, including our SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold certified panel products, contribute to IEQ Credit 4.4: Low-Emitting Materials—Composite Wood and Agrifiber Products.

What is the FSC?

The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent, non-profit organization of individuals who promote the responsible management of forests around the globe. They are non-governmental, and their list of requirements is decided by group consensus. They were established in 1993 to address exploitation and mismanagement of forests, and to emphasize their social and ecological value. Certification ensures that companies that work in forested areas share and maintain FSC's core values.
