Teragren's proprietary manufacturing adhesive emits less formaldehyde than allowed by U.S. OSHA, European E0, CARB Phase 1 and CARB Phase 2, and Japanese JIS/JAS (F☆☆☆☆) emission standards.

 

This information is confirmed by all of Teragren's floors achieving FloorScore® certification, a standard which tests for 78 VOCs (volatile organic compounds), including formaldehyde. Teragren's panels and select veneer are SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold-certified, which indicates they've been rigorously tested to ensure that individual VOCs do not exceed one-half of the defined CREL (Chronic Reference Exposure Levels) threshold.

 

Periodically Teragren tests its products by utilizing an independent testing laboratory in the United States. The test used to determine formaldehyde off-gassing is the "Large Chamber Test for Formaldehyde Emissions" and is run in accordance with ASTM E1333. The results of these tests and their comparison to international standards are listed below.
